The Trick or Treat Tour

By: Mary Welch

This week I got to see my favourite band for the 14 time. Or 15th, I’m losing track. I was excited to see Twiztid, who was up first, because I only saw a few songs the first time I saw them at Motionless In White’s halloween show last year in St. Louis. However, I did not know what to expect of After the Burial, but I really enjoyed one of their songs which I believe is titled “In Flux” more towards the end of their set. Next was We Came As Romans, and it was a bit emotional for both the crowd and band. Last time I saw them was on the Rage on the Stage tour with I Prevail, back when vocalist Kyle Pavone was still with us. Even though I’ve never been a huge fan, it was an honor to be able to see them live again and it was inspiring that they still get up on stage every night .

This summer, Motionless In White’s new album Disguise was released, and it actually was not hard to pick a favourite song. On their album Creatures, they wrote a song called “Undead Ahead” and it always stood out to me. On Disguise, they added a part two to “Undead Ahead” called “Tale of the Midnight Ride” and it’s my most-listened-to song since probably winter. Thankfully, they opened with this song. I couldn’t keep myself from singing along in the photo pit. I was also super excited to hear “Headache” and “Catharsis” from Disguise which they played during their set as well. They are one of those bands where you want to travel to the next closest date of the tour to see them again. Since that’s unfortunately expensive, I’ll have to wait until next time, whenever that may be. They do however have a bunch of dates in Europe with Sköld from November through December which you can see here.
